Welcome to our wedding! In April 2010, Brian and I made it legal when we tied the knot in Lexington, VA. After visiting some venues around Richmond (and then freaking out after we found out how expensive they were), we chose to get married at the House Mountain Inn. It was a beautiful, secluded bed and breakfast that was the perfect spot for the laid back wedding we wanted.

On the days leading up to our wedding, we were on major weather watch. It had been calling for rain the entire week and the day of our wedding was no different. Here was the weather map for the day of the wedding -

Luckily, the weather held out most of the day. They boys were even able to get a couple games of wiffle ball in while the girls were getting our hair done.

Brian’s dad was the all-star pitcher for both teams -

And celebrating something very manly I’m sure…

After all the fun and games, it was time to get ready. Here’s my dress, I loved it so much I could literally wear it every day -

For a wedding present, I got Brian a pair of skull and crossbones cuff links -

Here’s Brian with our nieces Makenzie and Abby who were our flower girls -

When the moment of truth came and as the clouds turned darker, we made the call to have the ceremony in the covered pavilion. It had a huge fireplace as the backdrop and was absolutely perfect.

The flower girls started off the ceremony by streaking down the aisle, giving everyone a good laugh.

Our first moment as husband and wife -

As we walked back down the aisle, our friends gave us a good laugh by wearing pirate eye patches in tribute to Brian -

Then it was time to get down to the fun part, the reception! Let me set the mood -

{House Mountain Inn bar}

{We made homemade apple butter that served as gifts and seating cards}

{Our grand entrance}

{Our AMAZING band, 10 Spot}

{Yummy, yummy cake}
And then we danced! (and I use the term “dance” lightly…) -

{We call this little gem ”The Turtle”}

{And the “Reverse Turtle”}

The entire day was amazing. Thanks to our family and friends, we still talk about how much fun we had and how blessed we felt to be able to share the day with everyone.
Big thanks to our photographer, Rachel from Rachel Wilson Photography, for sticking with us through the entire day (and night) and for these amazing pictures!
