Breath of Fresh Air

You know those people who say you should have an emergency fund for those ‘just in case’ moments?  Yeah, they’re smart.  We recently put a pretty good dent in our just in case fund replacing all of the duct work under our house.  The project started out as a, “hey, come check out our system and seal any leaky spots”.  Then it turned in to a, “hey, your entire system is a mess, it needs to be replaced”.  Gulp.  Fortunately, the person doing the inspecting was related to us so not only did we trust him, but he gave us a fantastic family discount.  And honestly, I think I would have done it at any price after Brian showed me pictures from under the house and the inside of the ducts -

So the boys suited up -

Squeezed through the tiny door to our crawl space -

And spent the next two days squirming around under the house, removing all the old ducts and installing the new ones.  Seriously, look at all the space they had to work with -

Now we have new, insulated, CLEAN ducts!  It was a little scary thinking about the air we’ve been breathing for the past two years, but now we have a little peace of mind that our little nugget is breathing the good stuff.

And you know those people who say it’s great to have a doctor or a lawyer in your family?  I’m thankful we have an HVAC expert in ours.
