I have an embarrassing confession to show you. Right now, this is what our “office” looks like -
I know, the room looks like it belongs on an episode of Hoarders. It’s makes it a little hard to be productive but that’s all about to change. Right now, our office is in the spare bedroom on the first floor of our house. Down the road we plan on moving Juice into this room when another bambino joins the family, so we’re getting a jump start and moving the office now. We have the perfect little space off the loft upstairs and it’s the complete opposite of our current office -
And by that I mean clean and not full of crap. Since we moved our master bedroom from the loft to the first floor to be closer to Juice, we’ve been brainstorming about what we can do with the space. Our current plan is to make it a family room/playroom, so by moving the office to the room off the loft we’d be able to work while still keeping an eye on the kiddos. But for now…the office.
There’s a lot of things I want to squeeze into this space. I would love a desk and then a separate work space where I can sew, we need a book shelf, a place to store all my craft and sewing supplies, and I’d love to carve out a space for Brian where he can escape to play his guitars. We have a couple good pieces of furniture already and a great walk-in closet that can eventually be used for organizing/storing supplies. But as far as putting it all together, I’m not very good at completing an entire room at a time so I decided to try my very first mood board to give me inspiration -

The peony pattern is wallpaper from Urban Outfitters that I’ve been dying to put somewhere and I’m thinking the office might be the lucky winner. Wallpaper scares the bejesus out of me, but the thought of doing something other than painting is very exciting.
So there you have it, our little office plan! Time to get to work…
